Welcome to Catering Community

I'm Tom Dailey, Founder of Catering Community. After early retirement as Senior Executive of one of America's largest credit card brands and CEO of an international payment processing company, I decided to "ease into retirement" (just before the pandemic!) by opening my first restaurant in 2018, followed quickly by others. By 2021 we operated five restaurants and a successful catering business. In 2023, while at home recovering from a serious injury, I decided to create a professional community of caterers, initially as a Facebook group. I had become tired of groups that were poorly moderated, filled with advertisements or spam, or were a thinly-veiled attempt by industry suppliers to market their products or services, so I created one designed to address all of those concerns. I thought the group might attract a few hundred members, but our community has now grown to over 34,000 members! More than 20,000 of our members are active in any given month. We are still focused on our core mission of connecting members to interact, share ideas and expertise, seek knowledge, access expert content and advocate for our industry.
